Apply for One Young World Leading Scholarship 2026: Fully Funded to Cape Town, South Africa

Admin, July 22, 2026July 22, 2026

Introduction

Applications are now open for the One Young World Leading Scholarship 2026, and this could be your chance to take your impact to a global stage.

If you are a young leader building solutions for a more sustainable world, One Young World wants to bring you to Cape Town, South Africa from 3 – 6 November 2026 for its annual Summit.

In a world where decisions that affect Africa and other under-represented regions are often made without our voices at the table, this scholarship is designed to change that. It exists to identify and support exceptional young people whose leadership is already creating change in their communities, and to connect them to the largest network of young changemakers on the planet.

For African leaders, NGO founders, climate activists, and social entrepreneurs, this is more than a conference. It’s access, visibility, and a platform.

About the One Young World Summit & Leading Scholarship

One Young World is the global forum for young leaders. Since 2010, it has brought together 20,000+ delegates from 196 countries to tackle the world’s most pressing challenges — from climate action and education to peace, health, and human rights.

The Leading Scholarship is One Young World’s flagship program to ensure the Summit is accessible to remarkable leaders from countries that are often under-represented in global decision-making spaces.

The mission is simple: merit-based access. Selection is based on your proven ability to lead and create change at home, not on your ability to pay.

By bringing diverse perspectives to Cape Town, the Summit aims to spark collaborations that last far beyond the 4 days. Past Ambassadors have gone on to launch global initiatives, secure funding, and advise governments and corporations.

Benefits: What Selected Participants Receive

As a Leading Scholar, you will receive full support to attend the Summit in Cape Town:

Full delegate access to the One Young World Summit 2026
Hotel accommodation from 2 – 6 November 2026

Return airfare to and from Cape Town. Note: Flights must depart and return to the same airport

Tips for a Strong Application: How to Stand Out

Thousands of leaders will apply. Here’s how to make yours compelling:

Show, don’t just tell
Don’t just say “I’m a leader.” Link to projects, campaigns, businesses, or initiatives you’ve started. Use numbers: people impacted, funds raised, policies influenced.

Connect your work to global goals
Frame your local work within bigger issues — SDGs, climate, education, health. Show how solving a problem in Onitsha or Lagos connects to a global challenge.

Be clear about what you’ll do with the platform
One Young World wants to invest in leaders who will multiply the opportunity. Explain how you’ll use the network, visibility, and skills when you return home.

Highlight under-representation
If you’re from a community or country rarely featured at global forums, say so. This scholarship was built for you.

Apply early because it’s rolling, early applications get reviewed first. Don’t wait until October.

Conclusion: Your Voice Belongs on the Global Stage

The One Young World Leading Scholarship 2026 is not just about attending a Summit in Cape Town. It’s about being seen, being heard, and being connected to the people who can help you scale your impact.

If you’re between 18-35 and already doing the work to build a more sustainable, just, and innovative world, this is your invitation to step onto a bigger stage.
