NRC Forum Information Management Officer role in Cameroon – Apply Now

Do you have the technical expertise to optimize data systems and support critical projects? If so, the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is looking for you! NRC is seeking a Forum Information Management Officer to join its team in Cameroon. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient data collection, management, and analysis to support humanitarian initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

As a Forum Information Management Officer, your role will involve:

  • Assisting the CHINGO Forum Manager in developing tools for data collection and analysis.
  • Managing and optimizing data processing requests.
  • Driving the technical evolution of information systems and development tools.
  • Leading pilot projects that utilize databases and emerging technologies.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Enhancing the current archiving system to ensure proper documentation of project activities.
  • Providing training and technical assistance in data management.
  • Monitoring and updating project databases to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Acting as the primary information focal point for CHINGO.
  • Overseeing GORS RRM reporting in the North Area of Cameroon.

Qualifications and Skills

General Professional Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Social Sciences, or related fields (preferably Bac+3).
  • Strong proficiency in database management systems such as Oracle, MySQL, Sybase, or SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of query and programming languages.
  • Expertise in communication tools and emerging technologies.
  • A multidisciplinary and flexible approach to problem-solving.

Context-Specific Skills and Experience

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and French.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent research and synthesis skills.
  • Ability to actively listen, seek clarification, and engage in meaningful dialogue.
  • Open-minded and adaptable approach to teamwork and collaboration.

What NRC Offers

  • 12-month renewable contract, subject to funding availability.
  • Work location: Yaoundé, Cameroon, with 20% field travel.
  • Competitive salary based on NRC’s Cameroon salary scale (Grade 5, Step 1).
  • Start date: March 2025.
