 Tony Blair Institute Summer Associate Internship Program 2025 for Young Africans – Apply Now

The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI) is now accepting applications for its Summer Associate Internship Program 2025. This 10-week internship program offers an exceptional opportunity for young Africans to gain experience in political advisory and governance reform across the continent.

Interns will be placed within TBI’s country teams located in several Anglophone and Francophone West African countries, including:

  • Côte d’Ivoire
  • Ethiopia
  • Kenya (Nairobi)
  • Senegal
  • The Gambia
  • Nigeria (Abuja)
  • Zanzibar

The program begins in June 2025 and is designed for talented individuals who are enthusiastic about politics, strategy, and public service. Interns will work alongside professionals on real projects that contribute to nation-building and sustainable development.

Program Overview

The Tony Blair Institute Summer Internship 2025 offers hands-on involvement in projects supporting senior political leaders. Interns will collaborate with both in-country and international teams, gaining exposure to TBI’s project portfolio and innovation-driven approach to governance.

Interns will receive mentorship, build professional skills, and develop a strong understanding of policy, strategy, and government operations. The internship is ideal for those who aspire to make a difference through public sector work and policy influence.

Internship Responsibilities

Interns may contribute to the following areas:

  • Conducting research and providing in-depth analysis to support political advisory work.
  • Drafting reports, strategic insights, and presentations for government stakeholders.
  • Supporting TBI’s delivery work through performance tracking and project coordination.
  • Assisting in the development of policy strategies and frameworks.
  • Participating in business development and identifying opportunities for impact-driven projects.

These responsibilities are designed to help interns develop leadership, strategic thinking, and analytical skills in real-world governance contexts.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in the second or third year of an undergraduate degree program.
  • Demonstrated passion for governance, policy, business strategy, and public service.
  • Strong analytical skills with an interest in data and insights.
  • Previous experience with desk-based research and structured problem solving.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Legal right to work in one of the participating countries.
  • Willingness to cover personal accommodation or boarding expenses where necessary.
