Education for Refugees: TAGDev 2.0 Scholarship Program Now Open for the 2025/2026 Academic Year Admin, March 24, 2025March 24, 2025 Application Deadline:April 1, 2025 TAGDev 2.0 Scholarship Program: Fully Funded Bachelor’s & Master’s Scholarships in Agriculture (2025/2026) The Transforming African Agricultural Universities to Meaningfully Contribute to Africa’s Growth and Development (TAGDev) 2.0 Scholarship Program is now accepting applications for the 2025/2026 academic year. This initiative provides fully funded Bachelor’s and Master’s scholarships in agriculture and related fields, with a strong focus on entrepreneurship, inclusivity, and climate-resilient food systems. Program Overview TAGDev 2.0 is a partnership between: Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) Mastercard Foundation Global Confederation of Higher Education Associations for Agricultural and Life Sciences (GCHERA) 12 leading African universities The program aims to revolutionize agricultural education by strengthening universities and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions. Its primary goal is to equip students and institutions with the tools to drive inclusive, equitable, and climate-resilient transformations in agriculture and agri-food systems, with an emphasis on entrepreneurship. Participating Universities The following 12 African universities are participating in the TAGDev 2.0 program: Egerton University (Kenya) Gulu University (Uganda) Africa University (Zimbabwe) University of Cape Coast (Ghana) Université Nationale d’Agriculture (Benin) University of the Free State (South Africa) Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique (Morocco) Uganda Martyrs University (Uganda) University of Eldoret (Kenya) University of Port Harcourt (Nigeria) Malawi University of Science and Technology (Malawi) University of Bamenda (Cameroon) Scholarship Benefits Selected students will receive comprehensive financial and academic support, including: Full Tuition Coverage: All academic expenses covered throughout the study period. Living Allowance: A stipend for daily living expenses. Research & Internship Support: Funding and logistics for research projects and internships. Entrepreneurship Training: Programs to develop agricultural entrepreneurial skills. Academic & Career Mentorship: Guidance from experienced professionals to enhance learning and career growth. Support Services: Special assistance for students with disabilities, refugees, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) to ensure inclusivity. Eligibility Criteria Applicants must meet the following requirements: Age Requirement: Be a young African under the age of 35. Academic Interest: Show a strong passion for pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in agriculture or related fields. Encouraged Applicants: The program strongly encourages applications from refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons (IDPs), persons with disabilities, women, and girls.
