Admin, October 2, 2025October 2, 2025

Application Deadline: October 25, 2025

The South-West Innovation and Technology Accelerator (SWIT), an initiative of Odu’a Investment Company, is now accepting applications for its flagship accelerator program. Designed to support high-impact startups, this program targets ventures rooted in research, deep tech, clean technology, agritech, and other transformative sectors. With a strong focus on commercializing research and fostering socio-economic growth in South-West Nigeria, SWIT is positioning itself as a critical driver of innovation in the region.

About SWIT

SWIT serves as the regional innovation arm of Odu’a Investment Company, a leading investment powerhouse in South-West Nigeria. Its mission is to accelerate socio-economic transformation by bridging the gap between research-driven ideas and scalable market solutions. Through a blend of mentorship, funding, and ecosystem support, SWIT empowers startups to grow from prototype to commercially viable ventures.

The accelerator is built to nurture groundbreaking solutions that address pressing challenges in energy, agriculture, climate resilience, and frontier technologies. By emphasizing commercialization and industry partnerships, SWIT ensures that innovations move beyond research labs into real-world application.

What the SWIT Accelerator Offers

The program runs for seven months, divided into two distinct phases:

  • Phase One (Pre-Accelerator): Between November 2025 and February 2026, about 40 selected startups will refine their product-market fit, validate their solutions with real customers, and prepare for pilot projects.
  • Phase Two (Accelerator): From March to May 2026, 10 standout ventures will each receive $50,000 equity investment. These startups will run pilots with Odu’a subsidiaries or partner organizations, while positioning themselves to secure follow-on funding from investors.

Beyond funding, participants will access:

  • High-level mentorship from industry experts and seasoned entrepreneurs.
  • Valuable connections with investors, corporate partners, and innovation networks.
  • Strategic visibility and brand positioning to attract future collaborations.
  • Opportunities to test and scale their products across South-West Nigeria.

Eligibility Criteria

The SWIT Accelerator seeks ventures that are past the idea stage and already demonstrate tangible progress. Eligible applicants include startups that:

  • Possess a proof-of-concept or working prototype.
  • Can initiate customer pilots within 6–12 months.
  • Have teams with strong technical expertise in sectors such as deep tech, agritech, energy, climate, or life sciences.
  • Operate in or have direct ties to South-West Nigeria, either through their location, target market, or founding team members.

Priority will be given to ventures with scalable models that address significant challenges while contributing to the region’s development.

What SWIT Looks For in Startups

The selection committee is particularly interested in ventures that:

  • Are founded on strong research and technical foundations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to execute rapidly and engage customers effectively.
  • Present clear business models with pathways to sustainability and revenue generation.
  • Have the potential to attract significant follow-on investment.
