Application Deadline: October 15, 2025

The Institute for Advanced Study (IAS), Princeton, is accepting applications for its distinguished School of Social Science Fellowship Program 2026–2027. This fully residential fellowship welcomes scholars from all over the world, without restriction by nationality or current institutional affiliation, and provides an exceptional environment for groundbreaking research and intellectual collaboration.

About the Fellowship Program

Each academic year, the School of Social Science invites approximately 20 scholars, known as Members, to pursue innovative research in the social sciences and related disciplines. The program is designed to foster intellectual exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and academic excellence.

Half of the selected fellows typically align their research with the school’s designated annual theme, while the remaining fellows pursue independent projects across diverse fields of study. This approach encourages both thematic depth and broad interdisciplinary engagement.

For the 2026–2027 academic year, the annual theme is “Emerging Forces in Political Economy.” Scholars working within this focus will join a dynamic network of researchers exploring economic, political, and societal transformations worldwide. However, applicants working in other areas of the social sciences are strongly encouraged to apply.
