About the Prince Casper Foundation Impact Grant

The Impact Grant is an educator-focused funding programme of the Prince Casper Foundation, a privately funded nonprofit focused on advancing quality and equitable education in Nigeria and Africa. Its broader mission includes supporting learners, educators, parents and communities to overcome barriers to education.

The grant recognises that educators working directly with learners often understand local educational challenges better than anyone else. Rather than funding only large organisations or established institutions, the programme supports practical, community-level initiatives that can produce measurable improvements in children’s learning and development.

For the 2026/2027 cycle, applications are assessed against four focus areas:

• Learning Access: Removing barriers that affect classroom readiness, attendance and literacy.
• Digital Innovation: Using technology and digital approaches to reduce the digital divide.
• Educator Excellence: Improving teaching quality, classroom engagement and school leadership.
• Inclusive Empowerment: Promoting equity, reducing dropout risks and strengthening resilience among learners and families.

Grant Benefits and Funding

Successful applicants will share ₦6 million across 26 grants:

• Trailblazer Grant: ₦500,000 for 7 recipients
• Catalyst Grant: ₦200,000 for 6 recipients
• Launchpad Grant: ₦100,000 for 13 recipients

Applicants do not choose a funding tier. The selection committee determines the grant category and amount according to the project’s scope, cost, demonstrated need and potential relevance.

Previous funded initiatives have addressed practical challenges including school transportation, science laboratory resources, learning materials, career exposure, solar-powered learning solutions, digital literacy and support for vulnerable learners.

Who Can Apply?

The Impact Grant is intended for individuals actively contributing to education in Nigeria. Applicants should:

• Be actively involved in the Nigerian education sector.
• Work directly with or contribute to the learning and development of children or young people in primary or secondary education.
• Serve or work in a rural, underserved or educationally disadvantaged community.
• Demonstrate genuine financial need affecting their ability to improve teaching or learning outcomes.
• Be able to demonstrate how the proposed project will address a clear educational need.

Previous Prince Casper Fellows can apply, although priority is given to applicants who have not previously received the Impact Grant.

How to Apply and Deadline

Applicants should complete the online application through the official Prince Casper Foundation grant portal.

The application requires:

1. An online application form.
2. A 500–750-word Letter of Intent explaining the educational challenge, proposed solution and expected impact.
3. A CV highlighting relevant professional and teaching experience, achievements and background.
4. Supporting materials, where applicable, combined into a single PDF.

How to Strengthen Your Application

A strong application should do more than describe a problem. Show why the problem matters, who is affected, what you will do, how much it will cost and what will change.

Start with a specific local challenge. Instead of saying that students lack resources, explain the actual gap—for example, the number of learners without access to computers, textbooks, laboratory equipment or other essential learning resources.

Make your proposed solution realistic for the funding available. A focused project serving a defined group of learners can be more clearly planned and measured than an overly ambitious proposal.

Also explain how you will measure results. Consider indicators such as improved attendance, increased access to learning materials, improved assessment scores, number of learners reached, teacher participation or completion of a specific learning activity.

Finally, prepare a clear budget and connect each major expense to an activity and expected result. The Foundation’s published evaluation criteria place emphasis on impact and sustainability, feasibility, applicant capacity, demonstrated need and budget accountability.
