Global Entrepreneurship Festival 2026: Call for African Student Ambassadors

Admin, November 15, 2025November 15, 2025

Application Deadline: November 21, 2025

The Global Entrepreneurship Festival (GEF) has opened applications for its 2026 Student Ambassador Program, an exclusive opportunity for university students across Africa who are passionate about entrepreneurship, innovation, and social impact. The program offers participants a unique chance to represent their institutions, join a thriving global network of changemakers, and gain international exposure at the Festival in Accra, Ghana.

The Global Entrepreneurship Festival is one of the world’s largest gatherings dedicated to advancing entrepreneurial innovation. It brings together entrepreneurs, investors, educators, and students from diverse backgrounds to exchange ideas, showcase innovations, and build meaningful collaborations that drive global impact.

Empowering the Next Generation of African Changemakers

Through the GEF Student Ambassador Program, selected students become key representatives of entrepreneurship and innovation within their institutions. These young leaders will not only promote entrepreneurial thinking among their peers but also help create pathways for others to explore business creation, innovation, and problem-solving at the community level.

As ambassadors, they will have the chance to connect directly with global mentors, industry experts, and fellow innovators, gaining hands-on leadership experience and skills that will enhance their professional growth.

Program Benefits

Becoming a GEF Student Ambassador provides an enriching experience designed to elevate the participants’ leadership and entrepreneurial journey. Benefits include:

  • Global Recognition: Official acknowledgment as a GEF Student Ambassador with a globally recognized certificate and leadership title.
  • International Networking: Access to a vibrant community of young innovators, mentors, and entrepreneurship advocates from across Africa and beyond.
  • Festival Participation: Ambassadors may be selected to attend the 2026 Festival in Accra, Ghana — engaging in workshops, exhibitions, pitch sessions, and networking events.
  • Capacity Building: Hands-on training in leadership, entrepreneurship, and event activation to help ambassadors inspire innovation within their institutions.
  • Scholarship and Travel Opportunities: Selected participants will receive international travel support and scholarship packages linked to the Festival.

Eligibility Criteria

The GEF Student Ambassador Program 2026 is open to African students currently enrolled in recognized tertiary institutions — including universities and colleges. Applicants must demonstrate a clear passion for entrepreneurship, innovation, or social enterprise.

To be considered, candidates should:

  • Be currently enrolled in a tertiary institution at the time of application.
  • Show proven interest or involvement in entrepreneurship, innovation, or social impact projects.
  • Demonstrate readiness to serve as an active ambassador — representing their institution, promoting GEF initiatives, and mobilizing peers.
  • Submit accurate personal details and a concise statement of interest outlining their motivation and leadership potential.

Application Details

Applications for the 2026 cohort close on 21 November 2025. Interested students are encouraged to apply early to secure their chance.

How to Apply:

  1. Visit the official GEF Student Ambassador application page
  2. Complete the online form by providing your full name, institution, level or year of study, and contact details.
  3. Write a short, compelling statement of interest explaining your motivation for becoming an ambassador.
  4. Submit your application before the deadline and ensure your email address is active for notifications.

Tips for a Strong Application

To strengthen your application, demonstrate tangible leadership experiences and entrepreneurial involvement. Highlight previous roles in entrepreneurship clubs, innovation hubs, or student organizations. Show specific ways you plan to engage your campus community — such as hosting entrepreneurship workshops, organizing innovation challenges, or building awareness campaigns around GEF initiatives.

Applicants are also advised to maintain a professional presence on LinkedIn or other platforms, aligning their profiles with their interests in entrepreneurship and innovation. Submitting early allows time to refine your materials and respond to any follow-up requests from the selection team.

Why This Matters

Africa’s growing youth population holds tremendous potential to drive global innovation. By empowering students with access to resources, mentorship, and international platforms like GEF, programs like the Student Ambassador initiative help unlock that potential — inspiring young Africans to think creatively, act boldly, and lead responsibly.

The 2026 GEF Student Ambassador Program is more than just a title — it’s a life-changing opportunity to connect with visionary minds, amplify local impact, and be part of a global movement shaping the future of entrepreneurship.
