Global Citizenship Foundation’s Mentor-Intern Program Application are Now Open

Admin, April 18, 2025April 18, 2025

Application deadline: April 24, 2025

In a rapidly evolving world, where global competencies, emotional intelligence, and cross-cultural collaboration are essential, the Global Citizenship Foundation’s Mentor-Intern Program stands out as a pioneering initiative for young professionals seeking to create meaningful impact. This immersive and transformative virtual internship blends professional development, social-emotional learning (SEL), and personalized growth to shape the changemakers of tomorrow.

What is the Mentor-Intern Program?

At its core, the Mentor-Intern Program (MIP) is more than just an internship—it’s a journey. Developed by the Global Citizenship Foundation, the program offers high-potential individuals from across the globe a chance to gain real-world experience while developing critical leadership and collaborative skills in a culturally diverse, inclusive, and fully virtual environment.

The program is designed around mutual mentorship, where each participant is paired with experienced professionals who guide them throughout their journey. This unique dynamic fosters an enriching learning environment that supports growth through reflection, dialogue, and purposeful action.

Whether you’re a student, recent graduate, or a professional looking to broaden your horizons, MIP offers a platform where your voice matters, your ideas count, and your contributions shape the future of global citizenship and education.

A Comprehensive Structure for Holistic Growth

The program is thoughtfully structured into three modules:

  1. Personal Development – Focused on building emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and reflective thinking.
  2. Professional Development – Interns choose one core specialization and up to two electives, enabling them to hone practical skills through hands-on projects.
  3. Enhanced Leadership Track – A merit-based opportunity available after three months for those who demonstrate exceptional commitment and performance.

Interns can choose from five specialization areas, including Project Design & Management, Personnel Growth & Development, and Action Research. These roles not only challenge them to lead and collaborate on real projects but also expose them to a global work culture rooted in values, empathy, and innovation.

Flexible and Impactful – On Your Terms

The program is delivered entirely online via the Foundation’s Virtual e-Secretariat and Professional Development Center. Participants can choose between:

  • Spark Track: 3 to 5 months (full-time or part-time)
  • Leap Track: 6 to 9 months (full-time or part-time)

Regardless of the track, participants invest 20–30 hours a week and engage in live sessions, team meetings, and personal development activities scheduled across the week. Though the internship is unpaid, the experience, mentorship, and global exposure are invaluable, offering a powerful springboard into the professional world.

Applications Now Open for Cohort-22

Applications for Cohort-22 are officially open, with the deadline set for April 24, 2025 (23:59 UTC). The selection process includes an English proficiency test, task submission, and virtual case discussions, leading to a carefully selected group of interns ready to embark on their journey from May 26, 2025.

Diversity, Inclusion & Innovation at the Heart

The Global Citizenship Foundation is committed to equity and inclusion. It welcomes interns from all walks of life, irrespective of background, identity, or nationality. Even if you don’t find a suitable role listed, you’re encouraged to create your own job description and propose how your skills can contribute to the Foundation’s mission.
