Empowering Young Changemakers: Apply for Funding Through the AU-EU Youth Action Lab

Admin, December 12, 2025December 12, 2025

Are you a young leader with innovative ideas to tackle pressing global issues? The AU-EU Youth Action Lab offers youth-led organizations in Africa and Europe the chance to secure grants for projects that drive real change. This initiative fosters cross-continental connections, knowledge sharing, and collaboration while amplifying youth perspectives in policymaking at national, regional, and international levels—including dialogues between the African Union and European Union.

Upcoming Call for Proposals

The program is gearing up for its next round of funding opportunities, welcoming applications from diverse youth groups and initiatives. Eligible applicants include registered youth-led organizations based in the following African countries: Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somaliland (Somalia), Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, as well as any European Union member state.

The Youth Action Lab features four specialized grant categories, each tailored to different priorities but united by a commitment to youth empowerment and equitable support.

What Makes These Grants “Power-Shifting”?

These funding opportunities stand out due to their youth-centered design, emphasizing three key principles:

  1. Youth-Led Decision-Making
A dedicated Youth Advisory Board—composed entirely of young people—evaluates and chooses the winning proposals, ensuring decisions truly reflect youth priorities.
  2. Building Long-Term Strength
Grants are structured to promote organizational growth, including financial stability, resilience, and enhanced capabilities for sustained impact.
  3. Accessible Processes
Application and reporting requirements are streamlined and practical, designed with the realities of youth-led groups in mind to reduce barriers and encourage participation.

If your organization is ready to turn bold ideas into action—whether through innovation, entrepreneurship, advocacy for marginalized voices, or cross-continental partnerships—this could be your opportunity to make a lasting difference.
