Apply Now: The Prestigious Global Mentorship Programme 2026

Admin, December 12, 2025December 12, 2025

Application Deadline: January 25, 2025

The Global Entrepreneurs and Leaders Academy (GELA) has announced the 2026 edition of its Prestigious Global Mentorship Programme (PGMP) — an international initiative designed to empower young leaders between the ages of 18 and 35 with the skills, exposure, and mentorship required to thrive in politics, business, and civil service.

This transformative programme addresses one of the world’s most pressing challenges: youth unemployment and underrepresentation in leadership. GELA’s unique model combines mentorship, skill development, and practical experience to equip marginalized and underrepresented young people — particularly people of colour, women, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds — with tools for success in today’s global landscape.

About the Programme

The Global Mentorship Programme (formerly known as WAFMP) forms part of GELA’s broader mission to bridge the global youth unemployment gap. The initiative adopts a hybrid learning model, combining both local engagement and global collaboration, to ensure that participants receive holistic and inclusive learning experiences.

Through mentorship from international professionals and industry experts, participants gain hands-on exposure to leadership principles, entrepreneurship development, and governance systems. The programme is designed to not only develop skills but also to shape the mindset of emerging leaders capable of creating sustainable impact within their communities and beyond.

Expanding Opportunities for Global Youth

Building on the success of its African pilot project, which reached over 5,000 young people across West Africa, GELA has expanded its reach globally. The newly restructured Skillup-360 Project offers access to an extensive digital hub where young professionals can remotely participate in live sessions, review recorded materials, and engage in discussions with foreign mentors.

This online hub provides a gamified and interactive platform that enables learners to earn rewards, build their professional portfolios, and enhance their employability in a competitive global job market. The programme ensures equitable representation from every continent, offering 80–100 participants the opportunity to join this unique mentorship experience at little or no cost.

Programme Benefits

The Prestigious Global Mentorship Programme provides participants with a wide range of benefits that go beyond training. These include:

  • Soft Skills Training: Participants build essential communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities.
  • Character and Self-Image Development: Modules focused on personal branding and confidence-building.
  • Internationally Recognized Certification: Upon completion, participants receive a certificate from GELA — a United Nations–affiliated social enterprise.
  • Foreign Mentorship Exposure: One-on-one and group mentorship sessions with global experts.
  • Curriculum-Based Learning: A structured three-month programme designed for tangible impact.
  • Internship and Job Placement Opportunities: Graduates stand a chance to be matched with professional opportunities across sectors.

Each participant receives a comprehensive, curriculum-based mentorship experience valued at $100, but the programme is offered free of charge to selected candidates who demonstrate passion, commitment, and leadership potential.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Global Mentorship Programme 2026, applicants must:

  • Be under 35 years of age.
  • Have reliable internet access.
  • Show willingness to learn and collaborate.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Complete the Pre-Assessment Form after enrolment.

This programme offers an incredible opportunity for passionate young people ready to elevate their leadership journey. With the application deadline on January 25, 2026, selected participants will be notified on a rolling basis, and the programme officially begins on February 1, 2026, lasting for three months.
