Following successful expansions to Asia-Pacific (2019), Europe (2020), and the United States (2023), the Africa cohort continues to be at the heart of the Foundation’s mission to cultivate ethical, impactful leadership. A Transformative Leadership Experience Inspired by the leadership philosophy of President Barack Obama, the program immerses participants in collaborative learning, skill-building, and real-world problem-solving. The initiative identifies and supports exceptional individuals from the public sector, civil society, and private enterprise who demonstrate commitment to advancing positive change on the continent. Participants are selected for their impact-driven work, ethical leadership, and vision for strengthening their local and regional communities. The program is designed to equip them with practical tools, mentorship, and networks that enable them to amplify their influence and drive sustainable transformation across Africa. Eligibility Criteria To be eligible for the 2026/2027 cohort, applicants must meet the following requirements: Residency: Must currently live in any African country or territory. Citizenship: Must be a citizen, permanent resident, or have lived in Africa for at least five consecutive years. Geographic Focus: Work must contribute to positive change within local African communities or across the continent. Age Range: Between 24 and 45 years old as of September 1, 2026. Language: Must be professionally proficient in English. Experience: At least three years of relevant leadership or professional experience in a chosen issue area. Commitment: Willingness to fully engage from September 1, 2026, to May 1, 2027, with scheduled breaks. Ethics: Participants must abstain from running in any political campaigns during the program period. Compliance: Must not have any legal restrictions preventing participation in a U.S.-based or virtual program.
