About the EU Delegation Traineeship Program

This program is tailored for recent graduates with a passion for global diplomacy, economic development, and international relations. Participants will gain insights into how the EU Delegation promotes European Union interests in Nigeria, while also actively contributing to impactful initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Trainees will be assigned to the Green and Digital Economy Section, where they will:

• Conduct research and analysis on Nigeria’s sustainable economic development.
• Track industry trends and assess international development programs.
• Contribute to the design, evaluation, and implementation of EU-funded projects in collaboration with local institutions.
• Prepare reports on policy events, stakeholder meetings, and official engagements.
• Monitor media coverage on Nigeria’s economic and political landscape.

Participants will work on sustainable development initiatives across multiple sectors, including:

• Agriculture and Environmental Sustainability
• Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency
• Circular Economy & Technological Innovation
• Digital Transformation & Youth Employment
• Support for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)
• Investment Facilitation

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this prestigious traineeship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Must be a Nigerian national currently residing in Abuja.
• Hold at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
• Have a maximum of one year of professional experience.
• Must not have worked within any EU institution for more than six weeks.
