The program includes specialized academic training, practical experience, and exposure to key global policy processes, preparing fellows for leadership roles in climate mobility governance, policy, and research. Key Fellowship Details: Duration: 12 months (June 2025 – May 2026) Format: Hybrid (In-person & Virtual) Stipend: $800 per month Additional Benefits: Travel and accommodation for fellowship-related events Application Deadline: 15 March 2025 Eligibility Criteria The program is open to candidates who meet the following criteria: Aged 18-30 years at the time of application Fluent in English Nationals of or currently based in Africa, Latin America & the Caribbean, or Pacific Island countries Program Structure: The Four Pillars of CMF The CMF is structured around four key pillars, ensuring an enriching experience for fellows. 1. Formal Learning: In-Residence & Virtual Training Fellows will participate in two intensive training phases: In-Residence Program (16–27 June 2025): A two-week immersive training covering climate mobility knowledge-building and policy frameworks. Virtual Training (25 August–5 September 2025): A two-week online program focusing on advocacy, communications, project development, and action planning. 2. Hands-on Learning Through GCCM Programs Fellows will gain real-world experience by working on: Policy research & data analysis Regional programming Strategic communication Public advocacy 3. Engagement in Global Policy Events CMF provides access to high-profile global conferences, allowing fellows to engage with policymakers and thought leaders. Some key events include: UN Oceans Conference & Berlin Climate Mobility Forum (June 2025) UN High-Level Week & Climate Mobility Summit (September 2025) COP30 (November 2025) 4. Climate Mobility Impact Project Each fellow will design and implement a Climate Mobility Impact Project to address a significant climate mobility challenge within their region. These projects can: Offer innovative solutions aligned with GCCM’s focus areas, such as policy research, youth engagement, and climate finance. Develop new initiatives that drive climate mobility solutions and real-world impact.
