AI by HER: Global Impact Challenge – Empowering Women to Shape the Future of AI

Admin, October 23, 2025October 23, 2025

Application Deadline: October 31, 2025

The AI by HER Global Impact Challenge invites women technologists and innovators from around the world to lead the next wave of inclusive and sustainable artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. This groundbreaking competition, culminating at the India-AI Impact Summit in February 2026, New Delhi, provides women-led teams with a platform to showcase innovative AI projects addressing real-world challenges while competing for up to INR 25 lakh (approximately $30,000) in funding, mentorship, and global exposure.

Driving Inclusive Innovation through AI

The challenge embodies the spirit of People, Planet, and Progress, the core principles of the India-AI Impact Summit. It aims to identify, support, and accelerate women-led AI solutions that create social and economic impact across diverse sectors.

Key focus areas include:

  • Agriculture – Advancing food systems and smart farming.
  • Cybersecurity and Digital Wellbeing – Strengthening data protection and online safety.
  • Education – Enhancing learning access through AI-driven tools.
  • Healthcare – Revolutionizing patient care and diagnostics.
  • Energy and Climate – Enabling green technologies and sustainable practices.
  • Open Innovation (Wild Card) – Exploring bold ideas beyond conventional sectors.

By connecting innovators with investors, policymakers, and the global tech community, AI by HER creates opportunities for scalable solutions that serve low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and underserved communities.

Funding and Opportunities

Ten winning teams will each receive INR 25 lakh in prize funding, along with international visibility and access to high-level showcases during the AI Impact Summit. Finalists also benefit from:

  • Structured mentorship and pitch training
  • Networking with global AI experts
  • Access to potential cloud credits and workspace support
  • Media exposure to highlight their innovation journey

This holistic support ecosystem empowers participants to refine, test, and scale their innovations to reach broader markets and deepen impact.

Eligibility Criteria

The challenge is open to women-led teams or individual women innovators across the globe. Eligible applicants include:

  • Startups and MSMEs
  • Nonprofits and social enterprises
  • Public institutions or autonomous bodies
  • Academic and research organizations

Projects must be pilot-ready or beyond, falling under one of two tracks:

  • Just Code It – For prototype or pilot-stage solutions.
  • Just Solve It – For solutions ready for deployment or scaling.

All submissions must adhere to ethical and responsible AI standards, including data protection, transparency, and non-discrimination. Intellectual property rights remain with the participants, ensuring they retain ownership of their innovations.

Selection and Evaluation

Entries will undergo a two-stage review process—initial application followed by presentation and demonstration before an international jury. Evaluation will focus on:

  • Clarity and relevance of problem statement
  • Technical feasibility and innovation
  • Potential for scalability and real-world deployment
  • Social and economic impact, especially in underserved regions

Up to 30 finalists will advance to the final showcase at the India-AI Impact Summit, where winning teams will be announced and celebrated.

Empowering Women to Lead the AI Revolution

The AI by HER Global Impact Challenge reflects a growing global movement toward gender-inclusive AI development. By bridging the gap between innovation and opportunity, the initiative strengthens women’s leadership in technology and ensures that AI solutions reflect the diversity of human experience.

It not only provides financial backing but also nurtures the next generation of female AI leaders, enabling them to drive equitable growth, sustainability, and social transformation.

Women innovators leading projects in AI for agriculture, climate action, digital wellbeing, or education are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to amplify their impact and gain global recognition.
