Kroc School of Peace Studies is currently accepting applications for its prestigious Women PeaceMakers Fellowship program. This initiative offers a transformative opportunity for peacebuilders who specialize in gender, peace, and conflict to engage in research, practice, and learning that enhances global peacebuilding efforts. Fellowship Overview The Women PeaceMakers Fellowship is designed to foster meaningful collaboration between grassroots peacebuilders from conflict-affected regions and international partner organizations. By co-creating research and highlighting effective peacebuilding practices, the Fellowship strengthens global partnerships and enhances the impact of gender-responsive peace initiatives. This program is open to individuals of all genders, including transgender, non-binary, and gender-fluid applicants. The selection process does not consider sex, gender, or any other protected status. To be eligible, candidates must have at least five years of experience in peacebuilding or violence reduction and possess sufficient English proficiency to participate fully in program activities. Key Program Objectives Selected Fellows will: Exchange knowledge with fellow peacebuilders and experts from the Kroc School team. Develop new skills and innovative approaches to advancing peace and conflict resolution. Expand their professional network within the peacebuilding community. Contribute to critical peacebuilding research that influences policies and practices globally. 2025-2026 Theme: Borders, Gender, and Violence Reduction This year’s program will focus on addressing violence at borders through a gender-responsive lens, exploring strategies that foster peace and security in affected regions. Fellowship Benefits A stipend of $15,000 to cover time spent on the Fellowship and related research activities. Fully covered costs for the residency period at the University of San Diego. Participation in high-impact peacebuilding research and collaborations. Membership in the Women Waging Peace network, which includes over 1,000 members worldwide. Program Expectations Fellows will be required to: Engage fully in all Fellowship activities, including research and program-related outputs. Collaborate with international partners to enhance global peacebuilding strategies. Conduct original research through data collection in their country of origin or residence. Attend a two-week in-person residency at the University of San Diego, ensuring full availability during this period. Maintain a high level of professionalism and engagement with the USD community. Eligibility Criteria Applicants must: Have at least five years of experience in peacebuilding, violence reduction, policy advocacy, or social movements. Demonstrate strong research experience, particularly in engagement with violence-affected communities. Show a commitment to gender-responsive peacebuilding approaches. Be proficient in English to participate in discussions and research activities. Be available for all program activities throughout the Fellowship year.
