What is the TVET Initiative?

The initiative is a fully funded skills training by the government of Nigeria, with support to participants to launch their career or enterprise. It’s a flagship program designed to:

  1. Bridge the Skills Gap: Equip you with the practical expertise Nigerian industries desperately need.
  2. Empower for Success: Move beyond theory to hands-on training that leads directly to jobs or entrepreneurship.
  3. Fuel National Growth: Build a pipeline of skilled professionals driving economic development.

Why This Opportunity?

  • Zero Tuition Fees: Focus on learning, not financial burden. Your training is fully funded.
  • Monthly Stipends: Receive financial support throughout your program to help cover essential costs.
  • Start-Up Support: For selected high-demand trades, get the boost you need to launch your own venture after graduation.
  • Industry-Relevant Skills: Learn trades directly aligned with what employers are looking for right now.
  • Nationwide Access: Train at certified centers across Nigeria.

The TVET Initiative offers two flexible tracks tailored to your background and ambitions:

  1. Short-Term Certificate (STC) Programme (6 Months):
    • Ideal For: School leavers, first-time trainees, or anyone eager to quickly gain a practical skill and enter the workforce – no formal education required!
    • Your Entry Ticket: A Valid National ID Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN).
    • Goal: Fast-track entry into skilled employment.
  2. Vocational Education & Innovation (VEI) Programme (1 Year):
    • Ideal For: Those with some prior learning (formal or informal) looking to deepen expertise and gain formal certification.
    • Your Entry Ticket (Choose One):
      • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) – Showcase skills from apprenticeships or informal work.
      • First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC).
      • Any non-formal education certificate (e.g., NGO training, community programs).
    • Goal: Master your craft for higher-level employment or innovative entrepreneurship.

Apply in 4 Simple Steps:

  1. Create Your Account: Visit the official TVET Initiative portal.
  2. Choose Your Path: Select either the STC or VEI program.
  3. Fill & Upload: Complete your details and provide necessary documents (NIN, BVN, proof for VEI if applicable).
  4. Select & Submit: Pick your preferred training center and trade, then hit submit!

Don’t just imagine a better future – build it with skills that matter.
