Admin, March 26, 2025

Application Deadline: May 15, 2025

The Taiwan Ministry of Education (MOE) Scholarship Program presents an exciting opportunity for outstanding Nigerian students to pursue higher education in Taiwan. Designed to foster international academic collaboration and cultural exchange, this scholarship aims to strengthen the educational ties between Nigeria and Taiwan while supporting talented students in achieving their academic dreams.

About the Taiwan MOE Scholarship

The Taiwan MOE Scholarship is an initiative established to encourage Nigerian students—excluding those from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau—to undertake degree programs in Taiwan. It offers an excellent chance to study a wide range of disciplines in prestigious Taiwanese universities, fostering the development of future professionals equipped to meet global challenges. Additionally, this scholarship program strengthens people-to-people relationships and enhances bilateral academic cooperation between the two nations.

Funding Details

The scholarship provides substantial financial support to recipients, covering tuition fees and a living stipend:

  • Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees: The MOE will cover up to NTD 40,000 (approximately US$1,250) per semester. If the fees exceed this amount, the student must cover the difference.
  • Living Stipend:
    • Undergraduate students: NTD 15,000 (approx. US$468) per month
    • Master’s students: NTD 20,000 (approx. US$625) per month
    • Doctoral students: NTD 20,000 (approx. US$625) per month

The scholarship covers a maximum of four years for undergraduate studies, two years for master’s programs, and four years for doctoral programs. The academic year for the scholarship runs from September 1 to August 31 of the following year.
