Admin, September 4, 2025September 4, 2025

Application Deadline: November 7, 2025

The Schlumberger Foundation is now accepting applications for the Faculty for the Future Fellowships 2026/2027, a prestigious program that empowers women from developing and emerging countries to pursue advanced studies in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This global initiative supports women pursuing Ph.D. and postdoctoral research programs at leading international institutions, with the goal of fostering a new generation of women leaders in STEM.

About the Faculty for the Future Program

Launched by the Schlumberger Foundation, the Faculty for the Future Fellowship is designed to bridge gender and opportunity gaps in STEM education. The fellowship targets women from regions where access to higher education and representation in STEM remain limited. By offering financial support, mentorship, and an international platform, the program equips recipients to become role models, educators, and influencers in their home countries.

The core vision of the program is to drive sustainable development through education and innovation. Fellows are expected to return to their home countries after their studies, contributing to teaching, research, science-based entrepreneurship, and policy development that can shape the future of STEM in their communities.

Fellowship Benefits

Recipients of the Faculty for the Future Fellowships receive generous financial support, with grants of up to USD 50,000 per year for Ph.D. students and USD 40,000 per year for postdoctoral researchers. These funds cover tuition, housing, health insurance, travel, visa fees, and other academic expenses. A discretionary childcare grant may also be available under specific conditions. Funding is renewable annually, provided the fellow maintains strong academic performance and meets fellowship requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

The Faculty for the Future Fellowship is open to exceptional women who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a strong commitment to advancing STEM in their home countries. To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a woman from a developing or emerging economy where women are underrepresented in STEM fields. Dual citizens with a developed-country nationality are not eligible.
  • Be currently enrolled in, accepted to, or applying to a recognized international university for a Ph.D. or postdoctoral program in a STEM discipline. Master’s programs are not funded.
  • Possess a proven track record of academic achievement.
  • Show a clear commitment to returning to their home country after completing their studies to contribute through teaching, research, entrepreneurship, or policy leadership.
