NurseHack4Health 2025 is now accepting applications, offering a unique opportunity for nurses, healthcare professionals, developers, engineers, and innovators to collaborate and design solutions that address urgent challenges in healthcare systems worldwide.

Hosted by Johnson & Johnson, SONSIEL, and Microsoft, with support from the Johnson & Johnson Foundation, this initiative empowers nurse-led interdisciplinary teams to ideate, test, and scale impactful innovations. The program not only provides funding but also equips participants with the skills and community support needed to bring ideas from concept to reality.

Driving Healthcare Innovation Through Collaboration

NurseHack4Health is more than a hackathon—it is a collaborative movement. Teams will embark on a structured journey that includes personalized coaching, participation in the Innovation Accelerator this October, and culminates in the virtual Pitch-A-Thon in November.

Finalists will pitch their solutions before a panel of healthcare and innovation experts. Winning teams stand a chance to receive significant funding:

  • Up to $175,000 for healthcare organizations globally
  • Up to $35,000 for U.S.-based nurse-led startups

In total, the Pitch-A-Thon will distribute $385,000 in funding, helping healthcare innovators turn their visions into actionable solutions.

Building Skills for Lasting Impact

Beyond funding, participants gain access to robust training and mentorship. Teams will receive guidance on design thinking, budgeting, pitching, and AI-powered innovation tools. The program ensures that each idea is backed by a realistic one-year implementation plan aligned with real-world healthcare needs.

Importantly, all intellectual property rights remain with the inventors, ensuring teams maintain full ownership of their solutions. This open and collaborative structure makes NurseHack4Health one of the most supportive platforms for nurse-led innovation.
