The International Children’s Peace Prize, an esteemed global award presented by KidsRights, is now open for nominations. This prestigious award recognizes young changemakers who have made remarkable contributions to advocating for children’s rights and improving their well-being worldwide.

About the Prize

The International Children’s Peace Prize honors children who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to advancing the rights of their peers. The winner receives:

  • The Nkosi statuette, a symbol of resilience and leadership.
  • The Desmond Tutu Study and Care Fund, which supports their education.
  • A €50,000 Project Fund, dedicated to furthering the winner’s changemaking efforts.
  • A global platform to amplify their message and advocacy.

Beyond the main prize, the recognition extends to other finalists and nominees:

  • Top 3 Finalists: A chance to attend the award ceremony in person, gaining international exposure and an opportunity to further their impact.
  • Top 30 Nominees: Enhanced global visibility through features on KidsRights’ social media channels.
  • All Eligible Nominees:
    • Recognition on the KidsRights website, boosting their visibility.
    • An official certificate from the KidsRights Foundation.
    • An invitation to join the ‘State of Youth’ digital platform, offering networking, mentorship, and funding opportunities for changemaking projects.

Who Can Be Nominated?

The nomination process is open to young leaders worldwide who meet the following criteria:

  • Age Requirement: The nominee must be over 12 years old and under 18 at the time of nomination.
  • Advocacy and Impact: The nominee must have a proven track record of championing children’s rights, leading to tangible, positive changes at the local, national, or international level.
  • Consent: The nominee must agree to be nominated for the award.
  • Eligibility: Both individuals and groups of up to five children can be nominated. Organizations are not eligible.
