Cash Prizes

HelpMum is offering a generous prize pool to reward the most innovative and impactful solutions:

  • First Prize: ₦2 million
  • Second Prize: ₦1.5 million
  • Third Prize: ₦1 million

Winners will also receive visibility and promotional support from HelpMum and its partners, giving their projects the opportunity for real-world implementation.

Open-Source Requirement

All submissions must be free and open to the public. This means:

  • Any code, documentation, or design materials must be shared for public use.
  • Submissions must not be commercialized or restricted from public access.
  • HelpMum and its partners will have the right to use, promote, and adapt submissions to serve the broader maternal health community.

Participants must not include proprietary third-party content, or materials under confidentiality agreements.

How Projects Will Be Judged

A panel of expert judges will assess each submission based on the following criteria:

  1. Innovation – Is the idea original, creative, and tech-forward?
  2. Social Impact – Does it solve a real problem in maternal or infant health?
  3. Technical Execution – Is the solution technically sound and feasible to implement?
  4. Cost-Efficiency – Is it affordable and scalable, especially in low-resource communities?

Projects that demonstrate sustainability, inclusivity, and relevance to Nigeria’s maternal health context will receive the highest marks.
