Each year, the CCP Fellowship connects around 60 emerging and mid-career changemakers from over 40 countries with host organisations in Germany and partner nations. The programme, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and implemented by the Institute for Foreign Relations (ifa), promotes intercultural dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. About the Fellowship The CCP Fellowship supports professionals dedicated to creating social impact through their work in civil society organisations. Fellows spend two to three months working with a host organisation in Germany or one of the CCP partner countries. During this time, they gain valuable professional experience, exchange expertise, and enhance their intercultural skills. The programme promotes mutual learning: fellows bring their local and regional insights to the host organisation while acquiring new perspectives on international and German practices. In addition to their placements, fellows participate in workshops, networking events, and thematic conferences, building lasting professional relationships across borders. The 2026 cohort will be held primarily in person, with the possibility of remote participation under special circumstances. Fellowship Focus Areas For 2026, the programme will support fellows in the following thematic areas: Policy and Society Media and Culture Human Rights and Peace Sustainable Development and Climate Justice In addition, two new focus topics have been introduced for this cycle: Democratic Resilience Culture of Remembrance These themes reflect the programme’s commitment to fostering collaboration on pressing global challenges and strengthening civil societies worldwide. Fellowship Benefits Selected fellows will receive comprehensive financial and professional support to ensure a rewarding and impactful experience. For participants hosted in Germany: Monthly stipend of €650 Coverage of travel costs, accommodation, and local public transport Health insurance coverage Reimbursement of visa-related fees For participants hosted in CCP partner countries: Monthly stipend of €1200 Coverage of travel and health insurance Mentorship, professional development support, and access to the global CCP Alumni Network Eligibility Criteria To qualify for the CrossCulture Programme Fellowship 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements: Be at least 23 years old by the application deadline Hold citizenship in one of the eligible countries across Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East Have at least two years of professional or voluntary experience within a civil society organisation Possess strong English communication skills (German language proficiency is an advantage but not mandatory) Be willing and able to commit to a 2–3 month placement abroad Please note that students are not eligible, and applicants cannot participate while receiving another fellowship. Family members cannot accompany fellows during the exchange period.
