About the APEC Student Demonstration Competition The APEC Student Demonstration Competition celebrates innovation and excellence in the field of power electronics, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing among students. Hosted alongside the world-renowned APEC Exposition, which attracts more than 300 participating companies, the competition provides a unique opportunity for students to display their projects in a professional, high-visibility environment. Participants will showcase innovative concepts in a variety of focus areas, including: Advanced materials and devices Packaging and design innovations High-efficiency converter technologies Reliability and diagnostics systems Power applications in extreme environments Integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning in power systems Cutting-edge and emerging power technologies The competition emphasizes hands-on demonstrations of student projects, highlighting practical solutions that advance power technology and its applications in the real world. Competition Details and Benefits Each participating team can consist of up to three members, with one member designated to complete the official online registration. Teams selected for the final demonstration must register for APEC 2026, scheduled for March 24–25, 2026. To help reduce participation costs, each team will receive a $500 travel grant (reimbursed upon submission of valid receipts). The APEC organizing committee will also provide free exhibition space measuring approximately 5ft × 10ft within the main APEC exhibition hall. Participants are encouraged to present hardware prototypes supported by visual materials such as posters, slides, or pre-recorded videos from their home institutions. While interactive engagement is encouraged, live hardware operation is prohibited for safety reasons. Failure to comply may result in disqualification. Awards and Recognition The competition offers cash prizes and certificates to the top-performing teams, recognizing their innovation, design excellence, and presentation quality. 1st Place: $1,000 2nd Place: $600 3rd Place: $400 Beyond the monetary rewards, winners gain international exposure, credibility, and valuable networking opportunities with top industry professionals and researchers.
