Call for Proposals: EVO 2026 Professional Development Sessions for English Language Educators

Admin, July 22, 2025July 22, 2025

Deadline: August 31, 2025

The Electronic Village Online (EVO) is now accepting proposals for its 2026 online professional development sessions. This globally recognized initiative offers a unique opportunity for English language educators to design and lead engaging five-week virtual learning experiences that empower teachers worldwide.

Slated to run from January 11 to February 15, 2026, EVO sessions are open-access, collaborative, and entirely free. These sessions bring together educators from across continents to explore innovative teaching methods, edtech tools, and best practices in English language instruction.

About EVO: Global Professional Development at Your Fingertips

EVO is a long-standing initiative supported by TESOL professionals, offering educators around the globe a platform to grow, share expertise, and build lasting networks. Each year, passionate English language teachers and specialists co-create virtual sessions on topics ranging from digital storytelling and blended learning to AI in education and student engagement strategies.

The program’s structure allows for maximum flexibility and inclusivity. All sessions are conducted online, and there are no membership or registration fees—anyone with internet access can participate.

Proposal Requirements for EVO 2026

EVO is calling for original, well-structured session proposals that reflect creativity, collaboration, and professional relevance. Ideal proposals should encourage:

  • Peer learning and meaningful educator engagement
  • Cross-cultural collaboration and global networking
  • Skill-building in digital tools and language pedagogy

Session development begins in August 2025, with moderators working together through December 2025 to prepare their content and session plans.

Each session should be interactive, engaging, and applicable to real-world teaching contexts. Whether you’re passionate about gamification, AI in ELT, learner autonomy, or integrating multimedia tools, EVO is your stage to share knowledge and learn from others.

Moderator Expectations and Team Structure

Proposals must be developed collaboratively using Google Docs, ensuring all team members contribute actively to session planning. EVO thrives on teamwork, so moderators should demonstrate strong communication skills, a commitment to the professional development process, and a willingness to support one another.

Key requirements include:

  • All moderators must participate in MOD PD activities—these are training and preparation sessions designed to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • At least one team member must be affiliated with TESOL, IATEFL, or a similar professional organization. If no one on your team currently holds a membership, a commitment to join one of these organizations is required before sessions begin in January 2026.

Why You Should Submit a Proposal

Leading an EVO session provides more than visibility—it’s a chance to develop leadership skills, expand your global network, and contribute to the global ELT (English Language Teaching) community. With thousands of educators participating each year, EVO sessions are a platform for transformational learning and impact.

By submitting a proposal, you’re not only delivering knowledge—you’re shaping the future of global English language education.
