Application Deadline: unspecified

Are you passionate about making a difference in children’s lives while gaining valuable international work experience? The UNICEF Remote Internship Program 2025 is now open for applications, offering young professionals and students the opportunity to contribute to global humanitarian work—all from the comfort of their homes. With stipends of up to $1,700 per month, this internship provides not just financial support but also world-class professional development.

The program is designed to equip participants with hands-on experience in areas such as education, child protection, policy development, communications, public health, and humanitarian response. By working alongside global experts, interns actively contribute to UNICEF’s mission of protecting and advancing the rights of children worldwide.

Why Apply for the UNICEF Remote Internship Program?

This internship is not just another academic requirement—it’s a stepping stone to becoming part of the world’s leading humanitarian organization. As an intern, you will:

  • Collaborate virtually with international teams on impactful projects.
  • Gain real-world insights into United Nations operations.
  • Build transferable skills in research, data analysis, communications, and project management.
  • Expand your professional network with experts and peers from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.

UNICEF’s remote structure makes this opportunity flexible and inclusive, allowing students and graduates from across the globe to participate without relocation barriers.

  • Skills: Strong academic performance, digital literacy (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or equivalent), and demonstrated motivation.
  • Work Experience: Prior work experience is not mandatory, but volunteer work, internships, or leadership roles in student organizations are considered an advantage.
  • Other Requirements: Applicants must not have immediate family members employed by UNICEF or in their direct reporting line.

Key Responsibilities of Interns

Depending on the department and assigned project, interns will engage in tasks such as:

  • Conducting background research and preparing reports.
  • Supporting data collection, monitoring, and evaluation activities.
  • Drafting articles, reports, newsletters, and social media content.
  • Assisting in the planning and coordination of online events and meetings.
  • Maintaining knowledge-sharing platforms and internal resources.
  • Contributing to the development of strategic policy briefs and communication materials.

These responsibilities ensure that interns develop both technical skills and professional competencies that will remain valuable throughout their careers.

One of the program’s greatest advantages is that it is fully funded. Benefits include:

  • Monthly stipend of up to $1,700, depending on location and funding availability.
  • Additional lump sum support for travel and visa expenses, when applicable.
  • Internship duration ranging from 6 to 26 weeks, with both full-time and part-time roles available.
  • Fully remote participation, allowing flexibility to work from any location with stable internet access.
