Call for Academic Articles on Girls and Women’s Education in Africa by AU/CIEFFA -Submit Now Admin, July 15, 2025July 15, 2025 Application Deadline: August 8, 2025 The African Union International Centre for Girls and Women’s Education in Africa (AU/CIEFFA) is inviting emerging and established researchers to submit academic articles focused on gender equality in education across Africa. This initiative is part of AU/CIEFFA’s ongoing commitment to support policy-shaping research that advances education for girls and women throughout the continent. Selected articles will be published in AU/CIEFFA’s peer-reviewed scientific journal and integrated into key policy reports, helping shape future educational reforms and interventions in African Union Member States. Objectives of the Call The AU/CIEFFA seeks to: Promote original, data-driven research aligned with its four strategic focus areas. Provide evidence-based policy recommendations on gender and education. Foster collaboration and innovation among African and international education researchers. Encourage in-depth reflection on barriers and opportunities in the field of girls’ education. Strengthen Africa’s research ecosystem in gender-sensitive education. Key Thematic Areas for Submission Submissions must address one of the following core focus areas: 1. Gender-Sensitive Educational Frameworks Development of inclusive and transformative education policies. Strategies for improving girls’ enrollment, retention, and progression in schools. 2. Curriculum Reform and Teacher Training Innovative approaches to inclusive learning for girls. Training teachers in gender-sensitive pedagogy and classroom practices. 3. STEAM and Technical/Vocational Education Promoting girls’ participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). Overcoming barriers to vocational and technical training for young women. 4. Education in Emergencies and Humanitarian Contexts The impact of conflict and crisis on girls’ learning opportunities. Solutions for educational continuity for girls in vulnerable settings. Who Can Apply? This call is open to: Researchers, academics, and postgraduate students (Master’s, PhD, Post-doctoral) in Social Sciences, Education, Gender Studies, or related disciplines. African and international research institutions and centers focused on gender and education in Africa. Submission Guidelines Language: English or French. Abstract: 250 words (initial requirement). Full Paper: Between 3,000 and 6,000 words (excluding bibliography). Must be original, unpublished work. Should adhere to rigorous academic and methodological standards.
