The African Union Commission, through the Women, Gender and Youth Directorate [WGYD], is officially opening applications for the 2nd Egumeni Dialogue on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment.

After the success of the inaugural Dialogue in 2025, this high-level continental platform is back — and bigger. This year’s focus: Women’s Financial and Economic Inclusion across Africa.

Why Egumeni Dialogue Matters

Across Africa, women drive markets, farms, businesses, and communities. Yet structural barriers still block access to finance, ownership, markets, and decision-making rooms.

The 2nd Egumeni Dialogue exists to change that.

This is not just another conference. It’s a working space where policy meets practice. Where the people writing laws sit in the same room with the women building businesses on the ground.

The Dialogue aims to:

1. Strengthen political commitment to women’s financial and economic inclusion
2. Promote knowledge sharing and strategic partnerships across sectors
3. Identify scalable solutions to systemic barriers holding women back
4. Advance AU commitments and Agenda 2063 goals
5. Develop actionable policy recommendations and a collective roadmap for inclusive, resilient economic growth
