About the Seafarer Scholarship Program

The Seafarer Scholarship Program goes beyond education—it is a bridge between ambition and opportunity. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and practical experience, participants are equipped with the technical expertise, discipline, and leadership skills required to thrive in the maritime industry.

The program provides beneficiaries with:

  • Comprehensive Maritime Training: Delivered by certified instructors and maritime experts, covering navigation, safety, operations, and ship management.

Eligibility Criteria

The Seafarer Scholarship Program is open to young, vibrant Nigerians—both male and female—between the ages of 18 and 21 who demonstrate strong academic performance and a keen interest in pursuing a career in the maritime industry.

Educational Requirements:

Applicants must have obtained credit-level results (C4 or higher) in the following WASSCE or NECO subjects:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics
  • English Language
  • Geography

Identity Documents:

To qualify, candidates are required to provide:

  • Original Birth Certificate
  • National ID Card
  • Valid International Passport Number or Passport Application Number

Health Requirements:

All applicants must submit proof of medical fitness. The medical report should include results for colour blindness, eyesight, and confirmation of the absence of physical or mental disabilities to ensure candidates meet global seafaring standards.
