This impactful initiative aims to bridge Nigeria’s growing skills gap by equipping unemployed Nigerians with practical, in-demand skills that promote employability, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance. With a strong focus on vocational training, digital upskilling, and microenterprise support, the program is designed to stimulate sustainable livelihoods and contribute to national development. Program Goals The initiative is built on four key pillars: Closing Nigeria’s skills gap Empowering youths and women to become self-reliant Building a skilled workforce to support industrial growth Promoting inclusive national development through vocational empowerment Training Categories and Available Schemes Participants can choose from a wide array of training programs tailored to various age brackets and sectors: 1. Vocational & Technical Skills Quick-Fix Demand-Driven Scheme: Learn soap making, makeup, perfume making, paint production, bead crafting, and local drink production. Community-Based Training Scheme: Includes training in electrical installation, fashion design, computer operations, GSM repairs, beauty therapy, and catering. School-on-Wheels (SOW): Delivers mobile vocational training to underserved rural areas. 2. Digital and Creative Economy Digital Marketing for Employment & Wealth Creation: Learn essential digital marketing skills aligned with today’s economy. Cloud Computing and AI Basics: Foundational training in tech skills to prepare you for emerging job markets. 3. Inclusion-Focused Training Special Vocational Training for Persons with Special Needs: Tailored programs in tailoring, soap making, bead work, and carpentry for persons with physical or sensory impairments. Graduate Coaching Scheme (GCS): Unemployed graduates tutor students preparing for JAMB, WAEC/NECO, and other exams. 4. Traditional and Cultural Crafts Techno-Cultural Crafts Scheme: Learn blacksmithing, pottery, tie & dye, carving, and other heritage-rich crafts with tourism potential. Entrepreneurship & Business Support Participants also benefit from robust enterprise development training: Start Your Own Business (SYOB): A program for university graduates to gain entrepreneurship skills. Micro Enterprise Enhancement Scheme (MEES): Support for nano and micro business operators. Enterprise and Finance Counselling Clinic (NDE-EFCC): Business development counseling. Mature People’s Programme (MPP): Designed for older participants seeking to start or expand businesses. Agricultural & Environmental Skills The program also promotes agricultural entrepreneurship: Sustainable Agriculture Development Training (e.g., poultry, irrigation farming) Microlivestock Production (e.g., snailry, rabbit farming, beekeeping) Organic Agriculture Training (e.g., sack farming, composting) Environmental Beautification Training (e.g., soft/hard landscaping, POP) Special Schemes for Graduates Graduate Attachment Program (GAP): Provides work experience through internships.
