Each year, the Fellowship gathers 18 accomplished conservation leaders from across the world for an intensive month-long experience in Bellingham, Washington, USA. Who Can Apply

The Kinship Conservation Fellowship is open to mid-career professionals with:

At least five years of professional experience in conservation or environmental management.
A four-year college degree (or its equivalent).
Proven ability to communicate effectively in English.
A leadership role implementing market-based or community-driven conservation initiatives.

Applicants should not be primarily academics or researchers but active practitioners leading real-world conservation efforts.

Every applicant must submit a project proposal outlining a pressing environmental challenge they are addressing and how they plan to develop a market-based solution through the Fellowship.

Program Benefits

Selected Fellows receive a stipend of US$8,000 (subject to applicable U.S. tax withholdings). Non-U.S. citizens will receive an estimated net payment of approximately $5,600 after standard deductions. Fellows are responsible for their own tax obligations in their respective countries.
