Apply for the DHL GoTrade GBSN Fellowship Program 2026 for Postgraduate Business Students and SMEs

Admin, October 19, 2025October 19, 2025

Application Deadline: November 1, 2025

The Global Business School Network (GBSN), in partnership with DHL Group (DPDHL), invites applications for the 2026 DHL GoTrade GBSN Fellowship Program. This transformative 8-month fellowship is designed to connect postgraduate business students with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in emerging markets, fostering cross-border trade, business innovation, and experiential learning.

Empowering Future Business Leaders and Global SMEs

The DHL GoTrade GBSN Fellowship Program provides an opportunity for master’s and PhD students to work directly with SMEs in developing countries. The goal is twofold — to empower SMEs to access international markets and to equip students with practical global business experience.

This initiative supports DHL’s commitment to advancing inclusive trade and GBSN’s mission to create educational impact across borders. By joining the program, fellows gain professional exposure to global commerce while helping local businesses overcome barriers to international trade.

Program Overview

Each fellow will be paired with an SME in one of the participating countries for an eight-month consultancy experience. Through collaboration, research, and mentorship, fellows help SMEs enhance their business strategies and competitiveness in global markets.

Participants will also engage in virtual learning sessions, networking opportunities, and mentorship programs with DHL professionals and industry experts. These sessions are designed to strengthen fellows’ understanding of international business, supply chain management, and entrepreneurship.

Fellowship Support and Learning Journey

Fellows will benefit from a structured professional development journey that includes:

  • Mentorship from DPDHL experts to guide project delivery and leadership growth.
  • Coaching with SMEs, providing practical consulting experience.
  • Access to the DPDHL Certified Program, covering the fundamentals of international trade and logistics.
  • Virtual workshops and networking opportunities organized by GBSN to foster global collaboration among peers.

Participating Countries for the 2026 Fellowship

Fellows and SMEs will be drawn from the following countries:
South Africa, Namibia, Ghana, Kenya, Ukraine, Sri Lanka, Chile, El Salvador, Mexico, Brazil, Ecuador, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Uganda.

This global mix ensures diverse perspectives and broad exposure to international trade environments.

Eligibility Criteria for Students

The DHL GoTrade GBSN Fellowship is open to postgraduate business students worldwide who meet the following requirements:

  • Enrolled at a participating GBSN member institution at the start of the fellowship.
  • Commitment to complete the 8-month program beginning in March 2025.
  • Proficiency in English is required. Students matched with SMEs in Latin America should also have Spanish or Portuguese proficiency.
  • Ability to dedicate 12–15 hours per month to the fellowship.
  • Proven professional or academic experience relevant to business and trade.
  • Strong analytical, entrepreneurial, and proactive mindset.
  • Genuine interest in international business and community engagement.

Fellowship Activities and Alumni Network

Fellows will participate in quarterly virtual events hosted by GBSN. These sessions will feature global speakers, interactive workshops, and career development opportunities.

Upon successful completion, fellows will join the DHL GoTrade GBSN Alumni Network, a growing community of professionals and entrepreneurs committed to advancing global trade and inclusive economic development. Alumni are encouraged to mentor new fellows and continue contributing to the program’s vision.
