Admin, November 27, 2025November 28, 2025

Application Deadline: January 16, 2026

Applications are now open for the ChallengeUS Future Leaders Competition 2025, a global initiative that seeks to inspire and amplify youth voices in civic engagement, innovation, and creative expression. This competition provides young people from across the world with a platform to share their perspectives on key global challenges and to showcase their talents in writing, public speaking, and the arts.

Organized in collaboration with Climate Cardinals, the program connects participants to the ChallengeUS Future Leaders Network—a vibrant global community of young innovators, writers, and advocates committed to making a difference in their societies.

Competition Categories

Participants can submit entries in multiple categories to maximize their chances of winning. However, each participant can only be recognized as a winner in one category. The available categories are:

1. Creative Writing

This category invites submissions such as short stories, poems, reflective essays, memoirs, or written speeches. Entries should be original and expressive, showcasing creativity, personal insight, and emotional depth. The word limit is 1,250 words.

2. Analytical Writing

Entries may include argumentative essays, research papers, case studies, or literature reviews that demonstrate strong analytical thinking. Submissions should be well-structured, evidence-based, and backed by relevant data or examples. The word limit is 1,250 words, and citations can follow MLA, APA, or Chicago formats.

3. Speech

Participants can submit a recorded verbal presentation or speech, up to 10 minutes long, in MP4 format. Submissions should demonstrate effective public speaking, clear communication, and originality in addressing the given theme. High-quality audio and video are expected.

4. Art

This category welcomes artistic submissions such as drawings, paintings, digital art, mixed media, photography, or other creative forms. Artworks must be original, follow the given theme, and demonstrate creativity and skill. Accepted formats include PDF, JPEG, or PNG.

Awards and Recognition

The ChallengeUS Future Leaders Competition offers meaningful rewards to motivate young creators and thinkers.

  • Grand Prize Winner: USD $500
  • Four Category Winners: Honorable Mentions (one per category)

In addition to cash prizes, all winners will be featured in a biographical article published by ChallengeUS, and their work will be officially showcased. Winners will also receive a Certificate of Achievement and gain lifelong access to the ChallengeUS Future Leaders Network, joining peers who are driving change across the globe.

Eligibility Criteria

The competition is open to:

  • High school and undergraduate students from any country.
  • Students taking a gap year or semester.
  • Homeschooled students.

Submissions must be in English. Participants from previous ChallengeUS competitions are welcome to reapply, except those who previously won first place. Any form of plagiarism or use of AI tools is strictly prohibited and will lead to disqualification.

Evaluation Criteria

Each submission will be judged on clarity, originality, relevance, and creativity.

  • Creative Writing: Strong personal voice, depth, and emotional engagement.
  • Analytical Writing: Logical structure, evidence-based reasoning, and insight.
  • Speech: Clear delivery, engaging oratory, and thought-provoking content.
  • Art: Creative interpretation, originality, and craftsmanship.

Young individuals worldwide are encouraged to participate in this empowering initiative, share their voices, and contribute fresh perspectives to global civic challenges.
