At the heart of the program is the Majlis approach — a modern adaptation of traditional dialogue circles that promote mutual respect, listening, and collective problem-solving. Through this distinctive style, participants learn to navigate global challenges with empathy and understanding while developing practical tools for leadership, storytelling, and systems thinking. What the Doha Debates Ambassador Program Offers The Doha Debates Ambassador Program provides a transformative learning journey guided by leading experts in facilitation, communication, and intercultural understanding. Each ambassador is selected for their intellectual curiosity, open-mindedness, and desire to bridge divides in their communities and beyond. Throughout the fellowship, participants refine their skills in: Systems thinking and problem analysis Constructive dialogue and consensus building Storytelling and persuasive communication Intercultural collaboration and empathy-driven leadership By working closely with mentors and peers, fellows strengthen their ability to recognize global patterns, understand diverse viewpoints, and communicate ideas with clarity and compassion. Program Structure The fellowship is conducted entirely online and takes place in two interconnected stages designed to build and expand participants’ skills over time. Stage 1: Community of Practice (January 20 – February 10, 2026) In this four-week phase, successful applicants join a vibrant learning community to explore the foundations of dialogue and consensus building. Weekly virtual meetings and forum discussions provide opportunities to practice Majlis-style conversations and collaborative problem-solving. Participants who complete this stage receive a digital credential and are invited to join the full Ambassador Program. Stage 2: Ambassador Program (February 17 – April 7, 2026) During this eight-week intensive stage, fellows deepen their engagement through small-group collaboration and mentorship. They work on a final capstone project that embodies the principles of empathy, inclusivity, and systems thinking. Graduates receive an official Doha Debates Ambassador Certificate, opening doors to additional leadership and professional development opportunities within the global Doha Debates network. Eligibility Criteria Applicants must meet the following requirements: Aged 18–26 at the start of the program (January 20, 2026). Fluent in English and able to participate actively in discussions. Have reliable internet access for video conferencing. Committed to attending all twelve virtual sessions. Preference may be given to applicants who complete the Introduction to the Majlis course on the Participate platform before applying.
