This prestigious fellowship program equips young climate advocates with the diplomatic, technical, and strategic negotiation skills needed to play a key role in shaping the future of climate governance across Africa and beyond. From sitting at the negotiation table at the UN Climate Change Conferences (COP) to developing impactful climate policy briefs, AYNF Fellows don’t just participate—they lead. About the AYNF Fellowship Organized by the Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO) in collaboration with UNICEF Ghana, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Ghana, and the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN), the AYNF Fellowship 2025 is designed to foster a new generation of African youth climate negotiators. It provides a structured and immersive learning experience that blends theory, practice, and mentorship in an inclusive and Pan-African context. Program Structure The 2025 AYNF Fellowship is structured into two engaging phases over four weeks: Phase 1 – Station 1: In-Person & Virtual Training Duration: 1 week Mode: Hybrid – Residential training in Ghana + Virtual participation Focus: Foundational training on climate diplomacy, multilateral negotiations, the UNFCCC process, and regional climate policy frameworks in Africa. Phase 2 – Station 2: Virtual Working Groups Duration: 3 weeks Mode: Fully virtual Focus: Interactive working groups, guided mentorship, policy simulations, and collaborative assignments aligned with Africa’s priorities leading to COP30 in Brazil. Who Should Apply?
