Admin, September 29, 2026September 29, 2026 The African Development Bank (AfDB) Internship Program 2027 – Session 1 is now open for applications. If you’re a Master’s student or recent Master’s graduate looking to get real experience inside Africa’s premier development bank, this is for you. Selected interns will be deployed at the Headquarters in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, and in Regional and Country Offices – either remotely or on-site depending on the hiring unit. What is the AfDB Internship Program? It’s a 3 to 6 months professional internship designed to give you practical experience while building a talent pool for the Bank’s future recruitment. You will work on projects aligned with the Bank’s Ten-Year Strategy (2023-2032) and its four cardinal points – unlocking capital at scale, reforming Africa’s financial architecture, building climate-resilient infrastructure, and turning demographic growth into economic power. This is not an observer program. You will be assigned to a department and work on real operations. What You Get Monthly stipend paid by the Bank Medical insurance coverage during your internship Visa assistance for on-site interns Flexible mode: Remote or on-site depending on the unit. Remote interns just need a laptop, reliable internet and a good working environment One-time internship – granted only once per candidate Note: On-site interns are responsible for their own air travel and upkeep. Who Can Apply? To be eligible, you must: Be a national of an AfDB member country (all 54 African countries are included) Be not more than 30 years old at the start of the internship in January 2027 Be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in a recognized institution OR have obtained your Master’s within the last 1 year Be fluent in at least one of the Bank’s working languages: English or French Be able to use standard software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access. Knowledge of SAP is an added advantage Provide a letter from your school confirming enrollment or a copy of your Master’s degree Fields of Study Accepted The Bank is accepting candidates from a very wide range of fields: Agriculture, Human Capital, Engineering, Investment, Operations Management, Sustainability, Procurement, Delivery & Performance Monitoring, Risk Management, Finance, Capacity Development, Governance, Natural Resource and Knowledge Management, Economics, Statistics and Data Management, Human Resources, IT, Real Estate Management, Translation and Interpretation, Communication, Legal, Corporate Governance & Advisory Functions, and any other field relevant to the Bank’s operations.
