The Umi Mentorship Program stands as one of Umi’s flagship initiatives dedicated to supporting new mothers and mums with children under three years old. The program empowers women to become the best versions of themselves — as mothers, partners, and professionals — while receiving guidance from experienced mentors who have successfully balanced motherhood, career, and personal growth.

Launched in June 2023, Umi has continued to expand its reach, connecting mothers across the continent and in the diaspora. The initiative has built a strong network of African women from 15 countries, including Botswana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, as well as mothers based in South Africa and the United Kingdom.

Through personalized mentorship and peer support, the program creates a nurturing environment where mothers learn, share, and thrive together.

Who Can Apply

The Umi Mentorship Program is open to African mothers who meet the following criteria:

You are an African mum living in Africa or in the diaspora.
Your child is between 0 and 3 years old.

Program Duration and Timeline

The 2026 Cohort of the Umi Mentorship Program will run from February to April 2026.
Participants will undergo a transformative 12-week journey designed to help them grow as mothers, leaders, and professionals.
