While the program is open to all sectors, it prioritizes solutions that tackle key barriers within intra-African trade, including:

Trade Enablement
Technologies or platforms that simplify cross-border transactions or facilitate easier access to regional markets.

Financial Solutions
Innovative tools that address financing gaps, streamline payment systems, or boost financial inclusion for traders and small businesses.

Market Access
Digital platforms that help businesses connect with new buyers, suppliers, and customers across different African countries.

Supply Chain Innovation
Solutions that enhance logistics, inventory control, and distribution systems to improve cross-border trade efficiency.

Who Should Apply?

This program is designed for early-stage to Series A startups that meet the following criteria:

• Operated by African entrepreneurs based in Africa or the diaspora
• Have a minimum viable product (MVP) and a validated business model
• Are generating revenue from paying customers
• Operate a tech-enabled business that can scale across the continent
• Are focused on solving core challenges in cross-border trade

Program Benefits

Entrepreneurs selected for the Afreximbank Accelerator will participate in a three-month hybrid experience, combining virtual learning with hands-on workshops and in-person sessions held at regional hubs, including the Afreximbank headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

Funding Support
Eligible startups can access investment opportunities of up to $250,000 to scale their businesses.

Application and Selection Process

Startups will go through a multi-step selection process aimed at identifying high-potential businesses aligned with the program’s mission:

1. Registration
Submit your company’s information through the official application form.

2. Initial Review
Applications are evaluated based on innovation, relevance to the focus areas, and growth potential.

3. Interview Round
Shortlisted startups will be invited for virtual interviews with the selection committee and Afreximbank partners.

4. Final Selection
Top-performing startups will be selected to join the accelerator cohort.

5. Demo Day
At the end of the program, selected startups will present their solutions at the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) 2025, gaining exposure to investors and strategic stakeholders.
