Join a Global Movement for Ocean Restoration With climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss threatening the world’s oceans, the Social Art Award 2025 seeks to amplify artistic voices advocating for marine conservation, ecosystem recovery, and sustainable living. Inspired by international efforts such as the UN Ocean Decade (2021-2030) and the EU Mission to Restore Our Oceans and Waters, this competition aims to celebrate art that sparks real-world change. Artists of all backgrounds, regardless of gender, age, nationality, or artistic training, are encouraged to participate. Whether emerging or established, creatives have the opportunity to showcase their vision of planetary healing. Exploring the Theme: “Planetary Healing – Blue Tribes for Ocean Health” The concept of Blue Tribes symbolizes communities that recognize the interconnectedness of all life forms and take action to protect oceans and the planet. Artists are invited to explore themes such as: Human-nature relationships – How can art redefine our connection with nature? Ocean restoration and water conservation – How can creativity drive awareness and action? Ecosystem recovery and biodiversity protection – What role does art play in showcasing nature’s resilience? Climate resilience and sustainable living – How can artists inspire a more sustainable future? Through compelling narratives and innovative artistic expressions, participants will contribute to a broader movement for global environmental awareness. Awards and Recognition From the submissions, 12 finalists will be selected, with the top 3 winners receiving special recognition: First-place winner: €1,000 cash prize Top 3 winners: Featured in interviews and exhibitions at prestigious international events, including BitBasel and potentially COP 30 in Belém, Brazil. Additional opportunities: Touring exhibitions and collaborations may arise from this global platform. Who Can Apply? The Social Art Award 2025 is open to individuals 18 years and older, with no restrictions on nationality or artistic background. Applicants can submit multiple artworks in any medium. Each submission must include: A short description (in English) One image per submission (photo, video still, or visualization) A link to additional materials (if applicable) Artists retain full ownership and intellectual property rights over their work. However, they are responsible for transporting original artworks or necessary materials if selected for exhibitions. Evaluation and Selection Criteria A distinguished jury will assess submissions based on: Relevance to the theme – Does the artwork align with Planetary Healing – Blue Tribes for Ocean Health? Innovation and creativity – Does it bring a fresh perspective to ocean conservation? Collaboration and engagement – Works involving ecologists, technologists, or changemakers are encouraged.
