NCDMB Oil & Gas Field Readiness Training Program 2025: Free Training & Stipends for 10,000 Nigerians Admin, December 30, 2025December 30, 2025 Appllication Deadline: Ongoing The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has opened applications for its Oil and Gas Field Readiness Training Program 2025, a transformative national initiative designed to equip 10,000 young Nigerians with technical and professional skills for the rapidly expanding oil and gas industry. This fully sponsored training program prepares participants for real-world employment opportunities emerging from Nigeria’s growing energy investments. The initiative is anchored in the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act, which promotes local content development, skills acquisition, and workforce participation by Nigerians in the energy sector. Empowering Nigerians for Oil and Gas Careers As Nigeria experiences a surge in oil and gas investments worth billions of dollars, the need for a skilled workforce has never been more urgent. The NCDMB’s Field Readiness Program addresses this need by closing the skills gap that often limits local participation in technical and engineering roles. Participants will receive hands-on, industry-relevant training designed to meet global standards. The program emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring participants are ready for immediate employment or self-employment in related industries. Key Focus Areas and Technical Skills The NCDMB training program provides access to a wide range of high-demand skill areas in the oil, gas, and energy sectors. Participants can select up to three focus areas from the list below: Subsea Engineering – covering wellheads, flowlines, and umbilicals Underwater Welding – specialized skills for marine and offshore operations Control and Automation Engineering – focusing on rig operations and well controls Helicopter Piloting – for aviation roles within offshore energy operations Seafarer and Marine Operations – vessel mechanics and marine electrical systems Production and Maintenance Engineering – industrial systems upkeep and efficiency Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Engineering – including Non-Destructive Testing Levels 1–3 Geoscience Engineering – seismic data analysis, geophysics, and wellsite geology Digital and Data Technologies – advanced skills in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Cloud Computing, and Drone Technology Eligibility Requirements The Oil and Gas Field Readiness Training Program is open to motivated Nigerians who meet the following criteria: Must be a Nigerian citizen under 35 years old Possess at least an OND, HND, or BSc in a relevant field such as: Petroleum Engineering Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering Gas, Welding, or Metallurgy Geology or Geophysics Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical disciplines Training Structure and Support The program spans two to three years and integrates classroom instruction, laboratory practicals, and real-life work experience. Participants will undergo: Theoretical training on oil and gas fundamentals Workshop and laboratory sessions to develop practical skills Skills certification recognized by the industry On-the-job training (OJT) placements for at least six months with reputable service companies To ensure full participation and motivation, all trainees will receive: Monthly stipends during the training period Pre-mobilization medical checks and insurance coverage Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for fieldwork Automatic inclusion in the NCDMB national skills database, increasing their chances of employment in future projects How to Apply Interested and eligible applicants can apply online through the NOGIC Joint Qualification System (JQS) portal Steps to apply: Create an account (new users) or log in to your existing profile.
