Since its inception in 2014, the World Internet Conference (WIC) has emerged as one of the leading platforms for global digital dialogue.  Introducing the Global Youth Leadership Program (GYLP)

Launched in 2023 as a flagship initiative of the WIC international organization, the Global Youth Leadership Program (GYLP) seeks to empower the next generation of changemakers in the digital space. To date, it has drawn hundreds of exceptional applicants from 85+ countries across six continents.

This prestigious program provides a unique platform for young digital leaders to gain hands-on experience, participate in meaningful dialogue, and actively contribute to the global conversation on internet governance.

Key Components of the GYLP

Global Youth Leadership Forum

Held during the Wuzhen Summit, the forum offers participants the opportunity to present their insights, address pressing challenges in the internet ecosystem, and exchange ideas with world leaders.

Capacity-Building Initiatives

Selected youth leaders benefit from expert-led workshops, international study visits, and high-level training designed to expand their global perspective and sharpen their leadership and innovation skills.

Youth-Driven Research

Participants conduct interdisciplinary research projects exploring digital policy, technology, and governance. These findings are integrated into WIC’s policy development process, contributing to the formation of international digital standards.

    • Entrepreneurship (tech startup founders or innovators)
    • Academia & Research (digital-focused studies, patents, or publications)
    • Social Impact (NGO/civic leaders advancing digital inclusion)

Candidates should possess interdisciplinary thinking, strong communication skills, and a clear global perspective on digital development.
