What Makes a Strong Application

To ensure your application stands out, clarity is key. Keep your submission concise, easy to read, and technically accessible. Avoid jargon and long-winded descriptions. Jury members may not have access to your full application or downloadable tools, so a clear and compelling overview is essential.

Before you apply:

  • Prepare a short, high-resolution video showcasing how your solution works
  • Write a two to three-sentence summary explaining your solution and the problem it solves
  • Provide active website links and a reachable contact email

All applications must be completed in English.

What the Jury Looks For

Each submission is evaluated through a transparent, multi-stage process involving two major rounds:

  1. Online Jury: International experts review applications and select a shortlist.
  2. Grand Jury: Shortlisted entries are reassessed to select five winners per category.

Winners pitch their solutions at the WSA Global Congress, where one Global Champion is crowned in each category.

Evaluation is based on seven criteria:

Technical Criteria:

  • Content: Rich, informative, relevant to local context
  • Functionality: User-friendly interface and intuitive navigation
  • Design: Visually appealing and accessible for target users
  • Technology: State-of-the-art with appropriate technical execution
  • Innovation: Originality and added value to community or market

Strategic Criteria:

  • Impact: Real, measurable change in your community
  • Value: Global relevance and contribution to narrowing the digital divide

Application Guidelines: Dos and Don’ts

Do:

  • Provide clear and complete descriptions
  • Ensure all links and login data are working
  • Upload an explainer video (with English subtitles if needed)
  • Fill in every field, even optional ones
  • Follow the Word template before copying to the online database

Don’t:

  • Leave out contact details or links
  • Submit in any language other than English
  • Use overly technical or vague explanations

Who Can Apply?

If you are under 26 and leading a digital project that is already in use and creating impact, you’re eligible. Your solution should include a strong digital component and must actively address a local or global issue in a measurable way.

Target users may include:

Sustainability and Future Plans

Your project’s long-term potential matters. Applicants are encouraged to share their business models, revenue streams, and scalability plans. Whether through partnerships, grants, or monetization, your solution should demonstrate a path toward sustainability.

Also include any milestones or achievements—user numbers, app downloads, country reach, or partnerships—that reflect the success and growth of your innovation.
