Founded in 2010 by the Government of Tanzania, UONGOZI Institute—which means leadership in Kiswahili—aims to nurture visionary African leadership committed to inclusive, sustainable development. The Institute is supported by the Tanzanian and Finnish governments, alongside the European Union. About the Programme The Women’s Leadership Programme is tailored to help participants: Develop a strategic leadership mindset Strengthen communication and team management skills Enhance personal leadership qualities Build resilience in navigating complex work environments Cultivate a sustainable work-life balance in senior roles Whether you’re stepping into a leadership position or looking to grow within your current role, this program equips you with the necessary tools to make a lasting impact. Eligibility Criteria To be considered, applicants must: Be African women in mid-to-senior level roles in any sector Have a minimum of seven years of professional experience Possess at least five years of leadership, managerial, or supervisory experience Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognized institution Programme Benefits Selected participants will receive a comprehensive, fully funded scholarship, which includes: Tuition and programme materials Travel costs to and from in-person sessions Meals and refreshments during residential sessions Access to UONGOZI Institute’s exclusive Leadership Resource Centre The program supports participants in strengthening their capacity to lead people and resources strategically, translate vision into action, and drive meaningful change in their organizations and communities.
