The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) has officially opened applications for the highly anticipated 2025 Youth AgriChampions – Peer2Peer Workshop Series on climate adaptation in agriculture. This transformative initiative is designed to bring together passionate young agricultural leaders from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Zambia to collaborate, share insights, and advocate for sustainable farming practices in response to climate change.

About the Youth AgriChampions Workshop Series

The Youth AgriChampions workshop series is a dynamic platform dedicated to empowering young farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs at the grassroots level. The 2025 edition focuses on locally-led climate adaptation strategies, equipping participants with knowledge and skills to implement sustainable solutions in their communities.

This initiative also serves as an advocacy platform, enabling youth to voice their perspectives on global agricultural challenges. Participants will actively contribute to a Youth Demand Paper, a powerful document that will be presented by BKMC Co-chair and 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, to influence global policies on climate adaptation in agriculture.

Who Can Apply?

The Youth AgriChampions program is seeking young leaders who meet the following criteria:

 Age: 18-35 years old
Nationality: Citizen of Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, or Zambia
Experience: Must have experience in agriculture-focused climate adaptation projects or relevant expertise in the field
Passion & Commitment: Demonstrated interest in agriculture, climate change, and food systems with a strong drive to advocate for smallholder farmers and sustainable practices
