Organized by Emerald Publishing in collaboration with the International Association for Management Development in Dynamic Societies (CEEMAN), this prestigious competition promotes the creation of impactful, relevant, and innovative teaching materials for management education across diverse regions.

About the Emerald/CEEMAN Case Writing Competition

This joint initiative was established to strengthen case-writing capabilities and highlight local business challenges and success stories from fast-growing economies. The competition emphasizes practical, real-world insights that enhance classroom learning while addressing global business trends.

In addition to fostering professional growth among case writers, the competition serves as a platform for connecting educators, researchers, and practitioners who are shaping the future of management education in regions such as Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Prizes and Recognition

The total prize fund is €4,000, including €2,500 for the first-place winner, with two additional prizes for runners-up. Exceptional cases may also receive scholarship support or publication opportunities. All winning and shortlisted entries are considered for inclusion in Emerging Markets Case Studies (EMCS) — an internationally recognized, Scopus-ranked journal published by Emerald.

Being featured in EMCS not only boosts the global visibility of authors but also provides academic credibility and a valuable publication record. Authors whose cases are accepted following peer review and necessary revisions will see their work published in the EMCS collection (ISSN 2045-0621), a respected repository for business education resources worldwide.

Eligibility and Submission Requirements

Submissions are welcome from authors around the world, provided their cases focus on developing and emerging markets. Eligible regions include Central and Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and Oceania.

To qualify, entries must meet the following requirements:

  • The case study must be based on a real situation in a real organization.
  • Submissions must be teaching cases, not academic or research papers.
  • Cases must not have been previously published in any form or be under consideration elsewhere.
  • All entries must adhere to EMCS author guidelines and include a completed consent-to-publish release form.

All submitted cases undergo a peer-review process to ensure quality, accuracy, and educational value.

Submission Process

Interested participants should submit their entries through the Emerging Markets Case Studies collection on ScholarOne Manuscripts. During submission, authors must select ‘CEEMAN 2026’ from the dropdown options.

Entries must include:

  • A complete case study
  • A comprehensive teaching note
  • A title page
  • The signed consent-to-publish form

The submission deadline is April 30, 2026, and early submissions are highly encouraged.
