Background and Vision The Climate Prosperity Fellowship was first announced during the 2023 Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund in Marrakech, Morocco. It forms a core part of the broader agenda to mobilize global support and champion climate-forward solutions for nations most vulnerable to climate change. By equipping professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the complexities of international climate finance and policy, the Fellowship aims to strengthen national implementation of Climate Prosperity Plans (CPPs). These plans are crucial for creating climate-resilient economies and unlocking sustainable development in vulnerable regions. Program Goals and Focus Areas The Fellowship curriculum is structured around key themes such as: Reforming international financial architecture Enhancing policy negotiation capabilities Mainstreaming climate risk into financial surveillance Advancing debt sustainability analyses Mobilizing climate finance and carbon exchange strategies Fellows will align their training with the 2024 CVF-V20 Leaders’ Declaration and the 14th V20 Ministerial Dialogue Communiqué, gaining advocacy strategies to influence global financial processes. Applications are open to professionals from Ministries of Finance, Economy, and Planning in V20 member countries.
