About the Fellowship

Each year, One World Media (OWM) selects 10 outstanding Fellows. These individuals receive not only financial backing but also professional mentorship and production support to deliver their non-fiction stories. Some of the fellows will also benefit from special grants awarded in collaboration with international media outlets.

The Fellowship provides a safe and collaborative environment for experimentation, allowing participants to build on their existing experience and further develop their careers.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the One World Media Fellowship 2025, applicants must:

• Be mid-career journalists or filmmakers from countries in the Global South
• Submit creative, engaging, and well-researched non-fiction story ideas focused on the Global South
• Demonstrate strong access to the story, ability to deliver, and a compelling reason why the fellowship would significantly benefit their career

Applicants working across all platforms—film, digital, audio, photography, and multimedia—are encouraged to apply.
