Applications are Now Open for the 2026 Global Youth Action Fund — Empowering Young Changemakers Worldwide

Admin, January 23, 2026January 23, 2026

Application Deadline: January 31,2026

Are you a young visionary with a bold idea to change your community? Here’s your chance to make it happen. Applications are now open for the 2026 Global Youth Action Fund (GYAF) — a powerful initiative by the International Baccalaureate (IB) that empowers young people aged 12 to 19 to transform their ideas into impactful community projects.

In a world facing complex challenges — from climate change to inequality — young people are proving that they are not just the leaders of tomorrow, but the changemakers of today. The Global Youth Action Fund is designed to fuel that passion by providing funding, mentorship, and global visibility to youth-led initiatives that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

More than just a grant, this program is a call to action — a movement where hope meets impact. If you’ve ever dreamed of creating real change in your community or beyond, this is the platform to bring your vision to life.

About the Global Youth Action Fund

Launched by the International Baccalaureate (IB) as a pathway to action under its Festival of Hope initiative, the Global Youth Action Fund is a global microgrant program that supports young people in designing and implementing projects with real social value.

Every year, the Fund receives hundreds of applications from youth across the world — from urban innovators to rural problem-solvers — all united by a shared mission: to make their world better through creativity, compassion, and collaboration.

The selected projects don’t just receive funding; they become part of a global movement of youth-led innovation. Through mentorship and community engagement, participants learn how to refine their ideas, strengthen their leadership skills, and amplify their impact.

Whether you’re leading an environmental clean-up campaign, building a tech solution for education, or creating art that drives awareness — the Global Youth Action Fund gives you the tools and support to make it count.

What Selected Participants Receive

Winners of the Global Youth Action Fund 2026 gain access to resources that can take their projects from concept to reality. Here’s what successful applicants can expect:

  • Project Funding: Financial support to launch or expand your youth-led initiative.
  • Global Recognition: Visibility on IB platforms and across the international Festival of Hope network.
  • Mentorship: Guidance from experienced educators, development professionals, and youth advocates.
  • Leadership Development: Opportunities to learn practical skills in project management, teamwork, and social impact design.
  • Networking & Collaboration: Connection to a diverse, international community of like-minded changemakers.
  • Advocacy & Storytelling Opportunities: A chance to share your project journey and inspire others worldwide.

Every selected project demonstrates the power of youth-led innovation, proving that great ideas can emerge from anywhere — and that young people have the creativity and courage to drive meaningful change.
