A Call for Application: News Corp Media Fellowship 2025

The News Corp Media Fellowship 2025, a partnership between the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and News Corp, offers an exclusive opportunity for journalists to enhance their digital skills while working alongside top editors and reporters at The Wall Street Journal and The Times of London.

Since its launch in 2014, this prestigious fellowship has empowered journalists from Africa, India, Mexico, and Russia, providing immersive training in digital journalism, audience engagement, and newsroom innovation.

Fellowship Overview

Duration: 4 weeks, including a 2-week in-person component at The Wall Street Journal, New York, in November.

Eligibility: 

Open to English-speaking journalists and editors from Africa, India, Mexico, Russia, and other countries.

Application Process

The selection process consists of two key stages:

1. Webinars (April 2025)

Two two-hour expert-led sessions covering digital tools, AI, data visualization, mobile journalism, and audience engagement. Up to 50 journalists will be selected to participate.

2. News Innovation Grants (July – September 2025)

Four grants will be awarded for data-driven or digital storytelling projects focused on storytelling innovation, data journalism, visualization, or citizen engagement. Grant recipients will receive editorial mentorship throughout the reporting period.

Only journalists who complete both stages (webinars and grant application) will be eligible for the full fellowship.
